Maclean’s Argyle St car park
The recent disclosure of the budget blowout from $870,000 to $1,129,515 for Maclean’s Argyle St car park is of concern. From memory, that’s more than twice the cost per car space of the car park constructed behind the Maclean Library on a site with very similar sub-strata.
There is no reasonable excuse for this blow out in costs. The constructor’s discovery of an “unanticipated” sub strata condition is unacceptable and it suggests that those responsible had not conducted the ...
Feel totally let down
I am writing this letter over something that I have been stewing over for a couple of months regarding the new service station which now involves traffic lights at Yamba Road and Treelands Drive.
I have only lived in Yamba for the last five years, and I love the town. The welcoming that is given to newly arrived families, from the young adults to the kids who acknowledge you on the street is amazing, and after becoming a rate payer I felt very privileged.
I sent an email to ...

There was a few missing at our last meeting as a lot of our members are not well; so wishing them a speedy recovery and hope to see them up and about again soon. It has been a bad year with everyone’s health. Hoping this bit of rain will clear the air.
A letter is being sent to council again about bikes on footpath in the main street; some ride up and down and want the walkers to get out of their way. We are also concerned at dogs leaving there mess on the main street in town as well. Hope ...
Grafton Men’s Golf
There is no doubt that as a consequence of the current dry conditions the extra run on the course has helped in the achievement of some outstanding golf scores.
That was evident in the last Saturday's Naeco Blue 18 hole single Stableford event with the three top scores of the day achieved by three C Grade players. The overall winner, with a healthy handicap of 16, was Josh Tracey who accumulated an outstanding score of 46 points to completely dominate the field of 100 players. Josh, who has ...
