From introverted to untamed

Daryl James plays at the Pacific Hotel this Sunday afternoon.

Daryl James has been playing guitar and drums as far back as he can remember … and isn’t planning to stop anytime soon.
Having travelled the UK and Europe with various bands, in 2012 he hit the road with a rucksack and guitar, to pursue a solo career.
After travelling around Asia and making his debut EP, Here, There and Everywhere, entirely on the road, he ended up in Australia where he began busking in the streets.
James fuses acoustic and gritty overdriven guitars and plays with innovative tunings, intricate finger-picking and body percussion … but he doesn’t mind banging out driving blues/rock riffs and soaring solos.
“Whether it’s with his homemade full foot-drum set and live looping, or with his full band, he guarantees a live show not to be missed,” his promo package says; one that will “evoke everything from introverted retrospection to wild untamed dance floors”.
Catch Daryl James in solo mode at the Pacific Hotel this Sunday April 9 from 2pm at the Pacific Hotel.
