Top tea fundraiser

Brooms Head Bowling Club held a ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ on Monday June 5, raising $1,122 for the Cancer Council initiative. Grafton Rowing Presentations

Following on from their very successful 2016 -2017 rowing season, Grafton Rowing Club members recently held their annual presentation night. Winners for the year were: Rower of the 2016 – 2017 Year Rick McLennan; Senior Oarsman Brenton Ford; Senior Oarswoman Jenny Sneesby; Sculler of the Year Brenton Ford; Veteran of the Year Tracey Poynter; Most Improved Karl Cooksley; Encouragement Award John Wainwright; Puller (or Club Person) of the Year Peter Mears; Dip Award Margaret Wright.

Swim stars for Masters carnival

Final training sessions are taking place this week in Yamba for what promises to be the biggest and best carnival yet. Over 125 swimmers representing 22 clubs from all over Australia will compete over two days this Queen’s birthday weekend in Yamba. Thirty of our own Clarence River Masters Club members are swimming, with several star performers hoping to build on their successes at the World Masters Games held recently in Auckland, New Zealand. Rain Rain Rain. There must be something about long weekends that just attracts the wet, a big weekend was planned with the Fairfield R S L boys but it just was not to be, maybe next year. Golf Results for Iluka Golf Club

Tuesday 6th of June the Iluka Vets played their 4th round of the Vets Club Champs in conjunction with the June Monthly Medal. Best of the field was Kevin Leader with a great round of 61 nett. Phil Moye with a fine round of 66 nett took out Division 1 Medal and best Division 1 nett for the day followed by Barry Brims with 68.
